Money!!! This is the term which matters the most in the world currently, why!!!!.Because the world believes if one has money most of the problems are solvable & one can enjoy his/her life through the means of money. But how does a person earn money? The answer is quite simple i.e. there are only two ways either going for a job or getting into a business & yes people doing illegal things do earn money but that is something unethical so obviously we have to completely ignore those methods.
Job or business, this is the question every single person on this planet thinks about when he/she comes to a certain age. So, before getting on a debate on this topic let me ask some questions & try to answer those. What if I ask you which is the best dish to eat on this planet or may be which is the stream that one should take after 10th grade? Will I get the same answer from everyone? No, just no because everyone has their own taste be it food, music, clothes & many more other stuffs in this world. So how can we tell whether a person should go for job or get into a business. So basically, it’s a personal choice that has to be taken by him/her. But yes, its not like one has to take this decision randomly instead there are some factors on which the one needs to focus on & then decide whether to go for a job or get into a business.
Here are the factors which one needs to look for-:
1 Basically, job is something which has a fixed time to work in & that maybe in shifts i.e. morning, afternoon or night shifts, but when it comes to business the ball is in the owner’s court. But again, this necessarily doesn’t mean business is easy to do because when it comes to job its quite simple to punch out & go but for a business person nothing is fixed.
2 Remember what we started with in this blog? Yes, its money. So be it any kind of job, you do have a fixed salary & may be some incentives, bonuses, commissions, etc. Also, to get an increase in your salary, one has to wait for a complete year for the appraisal. But in business, earning money is like roaming in the solar system i.e. there is no limit on earning money in business. So, in this case business is much more ahead than job but do remember salary is fixed & you will get it every month but profits are not fixed & you might even go through losses in a business.
3 Risk factor also plays an important role here & the job has an advantage in this case over the business. But again, there are two types of jobs one is government job & other is a private job & yes government job is more secure compared to a private job but whichever may be the job it involves less risk as compared to business. But always remember one thing, more is the risk more are the benefits, just like the money factor above.
4 One thing is for sure be it business or a job, responsibility will always be there. But yes, a business person has way more responsibilities than a job person, why because a job person is responsible only for his work or maximum for the team’s work if he/she is the team leader. In business, a business person or the owner of the company has to take everyone’s responsibility including his/her own’s as ultimately it will decide the profits for the company.
5 There is one myth among people that those who are in job don’t have any freedom & they have to remain flexible all the time according to the work, while in a business the owner is free to work at any time whether he wants to work or not. But you know what, this is not exactly the case! In a job there is some specific time when you have to work & after that its only your time i.e. you get the freedom to do whatever you like. In a business, if the owner is free that means either he has achieved the highest level or else he is not getting enough business. But do you think after attaining highest level the owners like to be free?? No not at all & for that just have a look at the top entrepreneurs of the world & you will clearly see that they are always busy in some other things & more.
6 One thing which matters the most is satisfaction from what you are doing. In this case its clearly the business which leads over job. Most of the studies suggest that many people are not having job satisfaction and instead the businesspeople feel more satisfied & why not, after all, you are yourself the owner of the business & not working under anyone.
So, a person needs to ponder upon on the above points to before deciding if he/she wants to go for a job or a business.
Although, there are many examples where people directly started the business & others started after pursuing a job. Like if you see these prominent personalities Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, J.R.D. Tata, Dhirubhai Ambani & many more are the ones who either left their job to start the business or directly started the business without any experience. But yes, remember one thing that experience always helps.
There are endless things which can be discussed when it comes to job or business or you may even google it down which is better between the two but ultimately your taste matters as no one knows better about you than you itself.
