When I started my PGDM journey at VESIM Business School, I was a bit nervous about how will my batch mates be and how I will get to know them. As an Introvert, meeting new people has always made me anxious. But I was proven wrong. The Institute has introduced a very unique Experiential Based Learning Method which is The Outbound Program. After my Induction Day, I got to know that the Outbound Program - Parichay is compulsory to attend for all PGDM students. On the 1st day of Parichay, everyone was Introduced formally and during these 3 days, we undertook a plethora of fun activities and the Knowledge gained through these experiences brought a holistic development in us.
At the very onset of our course, organizing an outbound program has helped us become more aware of ourselves and our working together in teams.
The Outbound Program connected Learning outcomes with real life problem situations for us so that we can come up with our own unique solutions and this method not only builds the holistic skills but also makes us more aware about our leadership skills and coordination, instead of just focusing on a single component. The activities in outbound program created a sense of accomplishment in every student and we felt deeply involved in the learning process. The activities take meticulous planning, disciplined implementation and thorough analysis of the outcomes.
After this experience in the outbound program, I firmly believe that the institute provides its students with the opportunity to transform themselves during the learning process making them confident to work in coordination to deliver the best result. The learning has helped hone out our skills that is best suited for the world of work. Because of the Outbound Program, I can now see a positive change in myself and in my behaviour. I am now much more confident in meeting new people and have also developed certain interpersonal skills that will stay with me forever.
