Classroom is a place where knowledge is shared , valued and appreciated. It always depends on the quality of students a teacher gets & vice versa to take the classroom on the next level but what if “Learners” becomes “Self-Learners”. Yes,it is true a lot of leading institutes are adapting this kind of learning methods where students learn by themselves and teachers just show them the directions to learn in a right way by arranging seminars and making conditions favourable for doing exercises which are profitable for students in practical world. This method of learning is known as ”Flip-Classroom”.
Flip-Classroom is a modern learning method adopted by leading management learning institutes for example I.I.Ms, S.P.Jain, I.B.S. etc. It is a classroom where teacher instructs students in a lecture regarding future lecture(s) & students learn about the respective topic in advance to give shape to a healthy discussion in a particular lecture instead of spending time on repeating things that can be done easily at home.

Flip Classroom at V.E.S.I.M.
VESIM adopted flip classroom in 2016 whereby it started raising his bars among the B-schools in Mumbai. Currently VESIM ranks among 11 best B-schools in Mumbai and 75 best B-schools overall INDIA tby TIMES OF INDIA (T.O.I.).
VESIM's adaptation of flip classroom teaching has also enabled it to improve technology used for teaching. Students are actively participating in changing the environment of classroom and taking it to next level to have more industry exposure with greater employability skills.
Measures taken to implement flip classroom strategy:
- Consultation with students.
- Consultation with teachers and directors.
- Sessions for students to prepare them mentally.

Suggestions for improvement in implementation of flip classroom:
- For presentations:Whole class should be assigned presentation topic with an instruction of anybody will be called to give presentation either individually or in groups. This will ensure max attendance and an environment of competition will be formed to do better.
- 3 chances must be given to each & every group to perform and in return of missed chances, they should be provided with an option of evaluation out of 8 instead of 10 or double absentee mark with a single chance missed.
- In practical subjects: In practical subjects huge projects must be given to apply the knowledge in practical sense instead of presentations because it will enhance understanding of students and they will be more comfortable with practical implications.
If above suggestions executed properly there will be surely improvement in learning, discipline and quality of students.
