Admission-related

Q: Do I need a business background in order to be an eligible EPGDM candidate?

A: No. You do not need an undergraduate business degree to apply for the EPGDM programme. We admit candidates with any undergraduate degree, but five years’ work experience. 


Q: Which documents must I submit with my application ?

A: We require that all EPGDM aspirants to submit the following:

  • Statement of Purpose (500 words)
  • Attested photocopies of degree certificate
  • Three passport-size photos
  • Work Experience certificate
  • Curriculum Vitae in English

Q: What is the method to pay the admission and other fees?

A: Fees can be paid through either direct bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS) or DD

Q: How will I know if an admissions decision has been made?

A: Application documents will be processed by the EPGDM programme Office and candidates who successfully pass the screening procedure will be called for an interview as the last step for admission. Candidates who will be invited for enrolment will be informed by the EPGDM Office by e-mail.

Q: What sources of funding are available to me?

A: VESIM has agreements with four nationalised banks with very favourable loan term conditions, i.e. no financial burden during study.

Additionally, students are given a grace period of 12 months after graduation before repayment must begin. The repayment period is limited to up to 10 years. (Subject to change from bank to bank and as per the bank regulation)

Loans are sanctioned on submission of Admission Letter from VESIM.


Q: Are scholarships available?

A: Scholarships are available in the form of one or more discounts as follows:

  • Full fee Payment in one instalment: 10%
  • Referred by VESIM Alumni, Faculty or Staff – 10%
  • Candidates with 7 years and more experience – 10%
  • 3 -5 students from same company – 10%

A student may qualify for more than one tuition fee reduction, For example, a student with more than 7 years’ experience, paying full fees in one instalment and referred to by an alumni, faculty or staff will be eligible for 30% discount.

 

Programme Structure & Teaching

Q: Is the programme AICTE approved?

A: Yes, the programme has the AICTE approval.

 

Q: Does this course offer Specialization?

A: It is a General Management Programme. However, in Terms Four and Five, students will be offered customized electives in one of the areas given below:

  1. Aviation
  2. Business Analysis 
  3. Finance
  4. HR
  5. Marketing
  6. Operations

However, a minimum of 5 students need to opt for a specialisation to be offered.

 

Q: What are the major attractions of this course?

A: To name a few, the major attractions include the Global Immersion Programme and Courses like Design Thinking, Contemporary Issues in Management, Sustainability and Social Responsibility Immersion, Data Modelling, Personal Growth Lab, Cross-Cultural Communication and Negotiation Workshop etc are the other distinct features of the programme.

 

Q: How is this course going to help me advance my career?

A: The course has been designed in such a manner that it is best for the candidates who have more than five years of work experience. The past experience forms the fuel, the candidates serve as the engine, the course acts as a high octane additive, and thus, the overall combination proves as a career accelerator programme.

 

Q:What is the duration of the program?

A: The total duration of the programme is 15 months.  You will attend classes for the first 12 months.  The last 3 months is a project-work that can be done in your place of work.


Q: How is the EPGDM program structured?

A:. Executive PGDM is a program designed for professionals who wish to develop skills and knowledge of the General EPGDM program and it offers a unique possibility to study at weekends without neglecting professional and family commitments.


Q: How are the courses taught?

A: The classes are taught in the form of structured lectures and case studies. Case analysis and discussions are an integral part of the classes as well as many projects and group work, field investigations and visits, and individual research and simulations.  Some classes may be offered through webinars and recorded sessions.


Q: What is the usual schedule of the classes? 

A: Thursday – Friday: 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

     Saturday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm

     Sunday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm

 

Q: Who will be teaching the programme?

A: The EPGDM programmes are taught by VESIM’s full-time professors and visiting faculty, who spent ample time studying/working in corporate and business environments.

  

Q: Do students have an opportunity to learn about the external consulting projects and research activities undertaken by faculty?

A: Yes. Many faculty consulting and research activities are brought into the class in the form of case studies. Faculty frequently share their latest thinking in their electives as well as through additional lectures. A small number of students may also have the opportunity to work on a research project with a member of faculty as one of their electives.


Q: Do I need a computer?

A: Yes. You must have access to a computer. We strongly recommend that you buy a laptop (notebook). VESIM is a wi-fi enabled campus.


Q: Are there Global Immersion during the EPGDM programme?

A: Yes. EPGDM students have the opportunity to be part of a Global Immersion Programme with our partner institutions. This is optional at an additional cost and will be announced as and when the programme commences.


Q: Is the cost of Global Immersion included in the Programme fee?

A: No, the costs pertaining to Global Immersion are not included in the Fees as it is an optional activity for interested students.


Q: Which are the Foreign Universities/Schools that VESIM has collaboration with?

Q: How strong is the alumni-connect at VESIM? Do they help the current students?

A: VESIM’s more than 2500 alumni are quite engaged with VESIM. Apart from inviting senior alums for engaging guest lectures, there are batch reunions on regular intervals that happen both within and outside the campus. The huge alumni base spread across various locations helps foster a sense of camaraderie among the students.
