Prof. Kavita Kanabar


Prof Kavita Kanabar is a resourceful professional with total experience of more than 16 years. She has an Industry experience of over 10 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry and of 6 years of in Academics. Prof Kavita Kanabar is also a certified Soft Skill Trainer.

She is a B. Pharma Graduate with Post-Graduation in Marketing (from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management and Research Studies, Mumbai), and currently Pursuing Ph. D in Bound Supply Chain from Mumbai University. Her research areas are centred on International Business, Supply Chain Management and Marketing. 

Currently, Prof Kavita Kanabar is engaged as Assistant Professor - Marketing and General Management at Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM), Mumbai.  Prior to academic experience, she was engaged with the Pharma Companies in Mumbai. Her areas of Expertise are International Business Development, Global Tendering, Warehouse Management, Team Mentoring, Vendor Selection/Management, Cross-Functional and Cross-Cultural leadership and Product Management.

Prof Kavita Kanabar is the Head of Anti-Ragging Cell and Discipline cell and an active member of Women Development Cell and Attendance Cell in VESIM. She is also handling the portfolio of Strategic Procurement, Infrastructure and Facility and assisting Director Sir in Institute Building.

Prof Kavita Kanabar is also actively involved in organising events. She has also Organized the First Seminar organised by VESIM’s Woman Development Cell on “Creating an Inclusive Workplace” under Women Development Cell on 27th Jan 2015 and took lead in organising VESIMSR’s Research Cell's First National Research Conference on 20th September 2008. 

She was the Event Coordinator & Organizing committee member for International Conference organised by VESIM on “Creative Entrepreneurship: A Sustainable Approach for Economic Growth” on 12-14th February 2016 and Co-Conveyor of Smart City Exhibition in Big data Analytics & Smart cities International Conference 2016 (BASIC16) organised from 10th to 12th November 2016.

She was also an active VESIM’s Research Cell member & coordinator in conducting a five-day Research Methodology Workshop from 24th to 28th March 2014 in association with ICSSR and also l involved in publication of in-house research journal: Journal of Development Research with ISSN No.2229-7561. 

She has taught subjects like ‘International Business’, ‘Sales Management &Sales Promotion’, Distribution & Supply Chain management and ‘Export Procedures &Documentation’. She has arranged many field visits including a trip to JNPT, Air Cargo and CFS for her students in order to understand the management issues related to International Business. She has also received Certificate of Appreciation from Veslarc (Aadharshila-Teacher of VES) for her contribution towards academic excellence. 

She always has strong work ethics with a 'can do' attitude and has always offered constructive feedback and recognizes as well as rewards success.
