VESIM is committed to becoming an international institution both in research in teaching by means of internationalization of its faculty and students. The institute seeks to increase its international visibility and impact whilst maintaining an identity that is strongly rotted in its region. VESIM has signed MoUs with some of the best institutions around the world and established linkages with Universities and Institutions in Europe, Australia and USA.

International Office of VESIM plays an important role in liaising with various internal departments to facilitate the exchange of students/ faculty/ staff members between VESIM and outside Universities, or students/ individuals/ researchers seeking admission/ affiliation at the Institute. The institution is a research-intensive university and has competent staff and faculty working in all areas of knowledge.

The SIP team worked on the context of Mission and vision of the organization aligning with objectives and mapping the same with SWOT analysis for creating space for globalised academic relations across disciplines and stakeholders.

The Strategic Internationalization Plan of VESIM has been built as a part of project approved by Erasmus+ Capacity building project for Internationalization of Higher education. Before it could be completely developed, it was necessary to create strong foundations to support it, raising, at the same time, awareness of its importance. This section will present the path and context of this development process

Internationalization Process

VESMI’s Internationalization Process is based on proposing different areas in which internationalization actions can be developed.

VESMI’s The process of internationalization consists of following steps:

Alumni 1

Articulated Institutional Commitment

Alumni 2

Administrative Leadership & Staffing

Alumni 3

Curriculum & Learning Outcomes

Alumni 3

Participation Policy & Practices

Alumni 3

Collaboration & Partnership

Articulated Internationalization commitment

Internationalization is firmly settled in VESIM's Institutional Plan (IP). The commitment to internationalization was deepened in the Prensent administrations of the university, with the application of its own financial resources in international activities and strong support for the development of the international relations office of the Institute. Through a specific program of the Institutional Development Plan, VESIM has invested in recent years in funding faculty and gusts in international related activities, all with indicators to measure the results.

Collaborations

Over the last few years, VESIM has increased the number and quality of its partners around the world. However, until now there was no clear strategy for the establishment and management of these partnerships.

Although it is not intended to bureaucratize the process, a policy of collaboration and maintenance of the partnerships is essential and will be defined based on the goals and objectives established in this Plan. A recent study revealed the potential of VESIM in several areas, as well as the actions that the community wishes to implement to improve the internationalization of our institution throughout collaboration.
