The HR Cell of VESIM organized the annual event “Every Policy Matters”, designed to provide students a practical platform to understand the importance and impact of effective HR policymaking. The main objective of the event was to help students develop the ability to analyse workplace issues, think strategically, and frame relevant HR policies in response to real-life scenarios.
The competition was conducted in two rounds. In Round 1, teams are given a case study involving a detail of company and were required to draft a 10-point HR policy addressing employee welfare and accident coverage on the shop floor. Based on the quality and relevance of their responses, where shortlisted teams are selected for the final round.
Round 2, challenged the finalists with an on-the-spot policy framing task, followed by presentations and Q&A sessions. Teams were judged on four key parameters: presentation, topic relevancy, problem identification, and number of policy points.
The event not only provided students with a platform to demonstrate their HR capabilities but also promoted critical thinking, teamwork, and clarity in communication. “Every Policy Matters” remains a flagship initiative of the HR Cell, aimed at nurturing future-ready HR professionals.
